About The Position

Assist in the functional management of Sanford Health's IT Technology. Responsible for supporting the consistency of IT technologies by providing input and feedback into the definition of standards and policies. Assists in the centralized management of the planning, managing, and implementing of functional technology, and supervising a team to deliver services across the enterprise. Expected to promote quality in support services to drive business value in compliance with internal and external IT policies and procedures. Employs performance development programs that result in both individual and team growth. Creates opportunities for individuals to exercise and grow new skills. Accountable as a resource to team members in department as well as other departments in the organization. Directs daily operations of department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards, and setting deadlines. Approves time off requests, and signs off on employee timecards. Maintains schedule to ensure proper staffing at all times. Conducts interviewing, hiring, discipline of employees and any other personnel issues that arise. Completes performance appraisals. Provide input and feedback to manager regarding budgetary items, financial and vendor management, contracts, and agreements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, with ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations. Must have experience providing excellent customer service in a prompt and professional manner and have the ability to work independently, balancing multiple tasks within deadlines. Must be comfortable managing change with excellent problem solving skills. Experience in training and presentation techniques. Ability to manage a project across teams and meet goals required. Ensures that technical objectives and functional requirements align in all IT projects and helps to remove roadblocks. Knowledge of current clinical practice, regulatory healthcare requirements, and healthcare information systems as needed for position. Extensive knowledge in domain area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in computer science, management information systems, business, or a related field. In lieu of education, five years of applicable experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience supervising/leading employees.
  • Four years working with technology or application systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required, with ability to react calmly and effectively in stressful situations.
  • Must have experience providing excellent customer service in a prompt and professional manner and have the ability to work independently, balancing multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Must be comfortable managing change with excellent problem solving skills.
  • Experience in training and presentation techniques.
  • Ability to manage a project across teams and meet goals required.
  • Knowledge of current clinical practice, regulatory healthcare requirements, and healthcare information systems as needed for position.
