Join Us in Shaping Safe, High-Performance Surface Operations! Are you passionate about training, safety, and operational excellence? Do you thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment? If you are an experienced surface operations lead hand or supervisor with strong leadership skills and expertise in surface operations, we want you on our team! As a Supervisor, Surface Operations, you will be responsible for supervising personnel and activities performed on surface including the areas of the open pit, tailings, paste/water treatment plants and general surface areas. The successful candidate would also promote company safety programs, providing strong leadership to ensure conformance to government regulations and internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in surface or milling operations
  • Supervisory common core;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently;
  • Computer proficient;
  • Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities;

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in mining related field would be an asset;
  • Qualified as train the trainer would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, communicate and follow work for the surface group;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices;
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew;
  • Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets;
  • Collaborate with internal departments including Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Environment and UG Operations to achieve site wide objectives and address any issues that may arise
  • Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required;
  • Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided;
  • Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the material provided;
  • Develop detailed understanding of the process flow sheets and operation of the Young-Davidson paste, water treatment and tailings operations
  • Fill monthly compliance records;
  • Any other task as directed by direct supervisor.
