About The Position

The Supervisor, Small Group Retention is responsible for supporting sales retention goals by building and maintaining internal and external relationships, and resolving client inquiries. The Supervisor, Small Group Retention role assists Account Executives with escalated client issues, retention strategy, and helps to identify and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree business, marketing, communications, or other relevant academic discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years' related experience in health insurance sales/retention
  • Thorough knowledge of health insurance principles, practices, and products, including specific knowledge of Blue KC offerings
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and organization skills, especially while handling multiple assignments, and/or projects simultaneously.
  • Beginner level knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced keyboard skills (typing, computer entry).
  • Must possess a State Life/Health Insurance license in both Missouri and Kansas or be able to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper execution of retention goals
  • Assist AEs through resolution of escalated issues that land with AEs and ACs
  • Execute renewal documents and support renewal activities/process timely and accurately
  • Build and maintain customer, broker and consultant relationships
  • Collaborate with SCs to align on group and broker needs
  • Execute on strategy set forth by Sales Leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assist in implementing and improving processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to review small group renewals, providing insights to actuary and underwriting, and providing AEs with necessary information to support retention goals
  • Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring all AEs and Acs
  • Maintain oversight and reporting of AE retention, identify areas of opportunity and report to Sales Manager
  • Monitor individual and team performance, provide constructive feedback, and develop action plans to meet retention goals
  • Participate in the recruitment process, interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for the retention team
  • Answer and resolve all broker and group inquiries (e.g. billing, claims, membership services, etc.) in a timely manner
