About The Position

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for effectively leading a production team in the efficient and safe production of corrugated products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4+ years’ previous experience in a supervisory capacity at a corrugated manufacturing facility.
  • Previous experience in coaching, training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution.
  • Able to work any shift as needed at any time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activity with the production manager to plan and manage daily and weekly schedules to meet production goals, prioritize work orders, maintain quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through all the departments to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime.
  • Support and maintain a culture of "Continuous Improvement" across the plant by developing and implementing the plant's action plan to meet corporate and customer quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to manage, maintain and improve manufacturing quality, including the shop floor data collection, customer quality reporting system and the quality checklist system to ensure product and process quality.
  • Analyze production and incident data, conduct investigations as necessary, identify root cause, identify process improvement opportunities and implement quality protocols.
  • Write programs and coordinate processes to maintain the plant's quality as needed.
  • Document quality procedures and train crews on quality processes.
  • Schedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy.
  • Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion and disciplinary action.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees.
  • Conduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis.
  • Analyze production performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish and execute goals.
  • Supervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions.
  • Participate in production meeting and provide updates as needed.
  • Request materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as needed.
