About The Position

This position organizes and implements procedures to insure the overall security and emergency response readiness of the plants, materials, equipment and personnel at the refinery.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years’ security, law enforcement and/or emergency response experience.
  • Must possess a current EMT certification (minimum EMT Basic).
  • Must possess a current Firefighter II certification.
  • Working knowledge of NIMS 100/300/400/700.
  • 5+ years’ supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the facility Fire Marshals, and Emergency Response Team.
  • Maintain the physical ability and skills to serve as a functional member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and training of emergency action plans, facility response plans, and department standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all mobile and fixed emergency response equipment and security systems are maintained and available to provide full capabilities at all times, including necessary and required inspection, testing and preventative maintenance
  • Initiate and conduct security and emergency response investigations.
  • Assist with development and delivery of annual emergency response training plan.
  • Focus on training, personnel development, equipment familiarity, and inventory with external response resources.
  • Conduct internal and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Serve as initial incident commander during facility incidents.
  • Assess after action performance of the site's Emergency Response Team and drives improvement as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including by not limited to contract management of contract security provider, process safety management, and environmental compliance.
