About The Position
The Supervisor, Senior – Training and OHS – Training Underground oversees high-level daily operations in terms of Occupational Health and Safety and Training, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance within Occupational Health and Safety and Training for Underground department. This Supervisor, Senior – Training and OHS role acts as the critical operational bridge between Underground Training Team, Employment Development Team and Occupational Health and Safety department working in partnership for safety and compliance’s purpose.
Requirements
- Previous Underground mining or, Underground training or, Underground Safety Officer or leadership role in a similar role 5 years or more.
Nice To Haves
- Be the holder of Certificate IV in OHS, or Certificate IV Training and Assessment or NEBOSH International General Certificate in OHS or similar
Responsibilities
- Manage key performance criteria assigned by the Manager Underground Mining and Superintendent safety and Training.
- Manage key performance indicators for staff under your control.
- Manage Underground Safety and Training Section in the absence of the Superintendent.
- Deliver growth and development to staff under your control.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through safety walks, coaching and engagement with underground mining teams.
- Lead or facilitate and assist in closing out incident investigations.
- Deliver and drive safety awareness through toolbox talks and coaching.
