About The Position

This role involves administrative and supervisory work, directing the activities for the Security Operations Center (SOC). The position is responsible for developing and implementing a departmental training program for all dispatchers and performing all duties of the SOC. The shift is 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, and the individual is subject to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of related experience, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Working knowledge of CAD (Computer Assisted Dispatching), radio operation & communications, alarm monitoring, and monitoring systems
  • Must complete and maintain all DHMC required training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must have the ability to motivate, coach and lead others.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required in accordance with D-H’s Driver Disqualifications Guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Subject to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Dispatch for security and parking.
  • Answers and disseminates all phone calls for security and parking.
  • Conducts periodic training assessments to provide feedback and make recommendations relative to continuous performance improvement.
  • Monitors and documents activity and incident reports through CAD, surveillance system, and access control for lockdown purposes.
  • Supervises assigned staff members and completes performance appraisals. Takes immediate action on observed behavior that is unauthorized and/or inappropriate.
  • Implements dispatch/shift training to ensure continued dispatch proficiency in skills, documentation, and consistency or to meet specific shift needs, and to plan, organize and direct the work of subordinates and to advise, instruct and train personnel; the ability to write and speak effectively; and the ability to deal with the public firmly and courteously.
  • Communicates with Supervisors, DH Staff and other entities any concerns, questions or changes to insure the safety and security for the hospital staff, visitors and patients.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
