About The Position

The Supervisor, Scheduling & Coordination is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the weekly work schedule for maintenance, operations support, testing, and modification activities within designated facilities. The position ensures that all work activities are integrated, authorized, properly planned, and executed safely in accordance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and Integrated Work Planning (IWP) principles. The Supervisor, Scheduling & Coordination serves as the central coordination point for the weekly work execution process, working closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, planning, and project personnel to ensure that work activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established priorities.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical discipline, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of relevant experience. However, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
  • Experience in nuclear facility operations, maintenance, engineering, or work management.
  • Experience with nuclear facility work control processes and integrated work management systems.
  • Knowledge of integrated work management and Integrated Work Planning (IWP) principles.
  • Knowledge of weekly work scheduling processes, work package readiness, and execution sequencing.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety, Integrated Safety Management (ISM), and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of cross-functional work coordination across operations, maintenance, engineering, and projects.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and work control systems (e.g., Primavera P6, Maximo, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of performance metrics related to schedule adherence and work execution.
  • Skill in developing and managing integrated weekly work schedules across multiple priorities.
  • Skill in coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure work readiness and execution.
  • Skill in resolving schedule conflicts and managing emergent work issues.
  • Skill in facilitating scheduling and execution meetings.
  • Skill in analyzing schedule performance and implementing improvements.
  • Skill in communicating schedule status, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead and oversee execution of integrated work schedules.
  • Ability to align multiple organizations while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Ability to prioritize competing work activities and manage operational constraints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the Department of Energy; The National Nuclear Security Administration facilities; or a highly regulated industrial facility.
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, SAP PM, Infor EAM, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Experience with leadership or supervisory; and with maintenance planning, outage coordination, or facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and management of the Weekly Work Schedule (WWS) for assigned facilities or programs.
  • Lead/direct Work Week Managers in coordination with work planners, schedulers, engineering, operations, and maintenance organizations to ensure work packages are ready for execution.
  • Validate scope readiness including permits, procedures, resources, tools, and materials.
  • Ensure work scope stability and adherence to schedule milestones.
  • Direct Work Week Managers in the execution of the approved work week schedule and monitor daily progress of work activities.
  • Coordinate resolution of schedule conflicts and emergent work issues.
  • Adjust schedules as required to maintain operational safety and minimize impacts to facility availability.
  • Communicate schedule status and performance metrics to maintenance and facility management.
  • Facilitate/oversee work week meetings, scheduling meetings, and daily plan-of-the-day meetings as requested.
  • Serve as liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, and project organizations where necessary for issue resolution.
  • Ensure alignment of work activities with facility operational priorities and safety requirements.
  • Provide status updates and reporting to senior management.
  • Monitor work execution performance indicators and schedule effectiveness.
  • Conduct weekly performance analysis and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement of work management and scheduling processes.
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure all work activities comply with nuclear safety requirements and Integrated Safety Management (ISM) principles.
