About The Position

The Equipment & Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Equipment and Sanitation departments within a high-volume aviation catering environment. This role ensures all flight equipment, production equipment, sanitation processes, chemical programs, and facility cleanliness meet dnata Catering standards, airline customer expectations, and all applicable FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Equipment & Sanitation Manager (or Operations Manager), the Equipment & Sanitation Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership to Equipment and Sanitation Team Members, ensuring operational readiness, inventory control, preventive sanitation schedules, and continuous compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards. This role partners closely with Operations, Food Safety & Quality Assurance, Culinary, Warehousing, Transportation, and Human Resources to support a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in sanitation, warehouse operations, manufacturing, airline catering, food production, or logistics.
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, FDA, USDA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Experience supervising sanitation or equipment operations in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling procedures and sanitation best practices.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
  • Must meet all applicable state and local food handler certification requirements for the work location (Texas requires a Food Handler Certificate within 60 days of hire).
  • Continuously required to multitask under strict time constraints.
  • Requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing operational demands while maintaining compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Requires consistent attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to lead teams effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Observes all safety and security procedures.
  • Reports unsafe conditions immediately. Uses chemicals, equipment, and materials properly.
  • Ensures compliance with all facility safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Food Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience leading teams in a regulated food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of the Equipment and Sanitation departments to ensure operational readiness and on-time service delivery.
  • Ensure all airline equipment is cleaned, sanitized, inspected, assembled, and delivered according to customer specifications and production schedules.
  • Develop and execute sanitation schedules that meet all Sanitation SOP frequencies and operational requirements.
  • Monitor equipment availability and coordinate cleaning priorities based on production demands.
  • Ensure production equipment, work areas, and common spaces are maintained in a clean, organized, and audit-ready condition.
  • Coordinate waste removal, grease collection, recycling programs, and exterior facility cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, SSOP, FDA, USDA, TSA, OSHA, and company food safety standards.
  • Conduct daily sanitation, GMP, and safety inspections throughout the facility.
  • Monitor chemical usage and ensure proper storage, labeling, and documentation.
  • Verify sanitation documentation is completed accurately and maintained according to company requirements.
  • Immediately report food safety or quality concerns to the Equipment & Sanitation Manager, Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager, and Operations leadership.
  • Support internal, customer, regulatory, and third-party audits while implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Equipment and Sanitation Team Members.
  • Conduct daily shift briefings and communicate operational priorities, safety expectations, and production goals.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on sanitation procedures, chemical handling, food safety practices, and workplace safety.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and employee performance while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Assist management with employee coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Supervise inventory levels of chemicals, sanitation supplies, airline equipment, and operational materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and audits.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and replacement needs with Maintenance and Operations.
  • Monitor inventory usage to minimize waste while ensuring operational readiness.
  • Promote a culture of safety and reinforce safe work practices throughout the department.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and complete required documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all employees utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Produce daily operational reports, sanitation records, and shift documentation.
  • Partner with Operations to improve productivity, workflow, equipment utilization, and sanitation effectiveness.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and operational excellence programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
