About The Position

Texas Health Allen is seeking a Supervisor Registered Nurse for their NICU department. This is a full-time position with a hybrid work schedule of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts per week. The NICU department is a Level II NICU/Level II Maternal Designation with 8 LDRPs, 5 Antepartum Rooms, and 2 Operating Rooms, handling 40-45 deliveries per month. The team is described as small and focused on BIG teamwork. Texas Health Allen has served the community since 2000, offering 88 beds and specializing in various medical services including women's and infant care. The hospital holds multiple certifications and designations, including Joint Commission Gold Seal Certification, Level II Maternal and NICU designations, and recognition as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
Two years of experience as a clinical nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role required
RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent care and maintained quarterly required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Three years of NICU experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

Collaborate with leadership, UBC and appropriate team members to establish, implement and monitor department policies/procedures
Engage staff to promote evidence-based practices within the unit
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and regulatory requirements for compliance
Provide bedside leadership and clinical expertise to improve quality of patient care
Provide safe direct patient are in coordination with other staff when unit activity declares
Promote guidance in emergency or complex situations
Evaluates the outcome of patient care, consults with others on the patient care team and adjusts nursing care practices as needed to improve outcomes
