The Impact You'll Make As our Rail Supervisor, you’ll lead a skilled crew responsible for loading, moving, and inspecting up to 30 rail cars per day (averaging 24). You’ll be the driving force behind safe, compliant, and efficient operations—ensuring every car is handled to the highest standards while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of management experience in rail or related operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of rail operations and experience managing large rail transit projects.
  • Proven ability to present effectively to clients and agency staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt to dynamic project requirements while maintaining scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license (experience with both automatic and standard transmissions preferred).
  • Teamwork, decision-making, problem solving, communications, customer focus, confidentiality, planning, organizing, process management, tolerance of ambiguity, and time management.
  • Analytical skills The ability to determine trends and anomalies
  • General knowledge of railroad operations.
  • Successful Team Leader or equivalent experience in a prior position.
  • Experience with meeting valid external customer requirements, supervisory/managerial capabilities, process management, and PC skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and lead a high-performing rail crew that embraces innovation and meets all operational and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, AAR standards, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Prepare and evaluate operational plans and performance reports to optimize efficiency.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with engineers, project leads, interdivisional teams, management, and clients.
  • Support project planning by determining staffing needs based on workload and available resources.
  • Conduct on-rail inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness.
  • Perform daily quality audits to maintain the highest service standards.
