About The Position

The Supervisor, Quality plans, implements and coordinates quality control policies and procedures. This role is responsible for implementing authorized quality control standards for incoming raw materials, parts, work in process, end items and finished goods. The position also coordinates activities to establish corrective actions for discrepant materials and other processes, ensuring that government contracts are followed through the quality standards required. The Supervisor must comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions relating to quality procedures given in government contracts, federal and military standards and commercial contracts. Additionally, the role involves instructing inspection personnel in the use of required inspection instruments, calibrating and checking instruments for accuracy, and maintaining a thorough documentation system as set forth by federal and commercial product standards. The Supervisor evaluates all materials in line with quality control standards and monitors processes such as plating, painting, welding and injection molding, as well as evaluating tool maintenance. The role requires coordination of quality problems with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and MFG Engineering. The Supervisor provides quality coordination between suppliers, customers, distributors, brokers and other agencies to review product complaints and advise corrective actions when applicable. This position provides supervision for employees on all shifts, including weekend work, ensuring all shifts are properly manned with quality personnel. Effective communication with department supervisors, foremen, and management level personnel is essential. The role may require working overtime, reporting potential safety problems, and maintaining a clean work area. Regular and reliable attendance, cooperative and professional interaction with co-workers, and adherence to company policies and procedures are expected. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must have good reading and writing skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and managers.

Responsibilities
