About The Position

Our role of the Supervisor is to supervise the production line workers. They are responsible for the routine communication of job assignments, training for specific product runs, and placement of Line Workers in assignments as required for the day. The Production Supervisor is expected to oversee day-to-day production to ensure that the required performance and quality standards are met. The role will oversee production staff, leading them to produce high-quality items at a pace that meets labor-set and yield-set standards. The role will ensure that machines are operational and that materials are on-site, so that production runs smoothly. The qualified individual should have previous experience of working in a food manufacturing environment and should have the people and operational skills to ensure that production runs smoothly. The successful candidate should be a strong people manager and should have strong organizational skills to ensure that production levels and quality meet the expected standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal oriented, confident, outgoing, and able to work well under pressure and succeed within a competitive environment.
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate effective initiative.
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook.
  • Ability to look up standard Excel documents.
  • Must be able to work 10-hour shifts, 5 days per week.
  • Availability to work Saturdays as needed.
  • Flexible to work between 1st and 2nd shifts; must be able to support off-shift assignments for 2 to 4 months at a time, or as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor day-to-day production to ensure that performance and quality standards are achieved.
  • Create daily work schedules to ensure that lines are sufficiently manned.
  • Lead a team to produce high-quality items at a pace that meets labor-set and yield-set standards.
  • Oversee employee performance, providing guidance and support and identifying development needs.
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to ensure on-time and smooth start-up.
  • Monitor inventory and coordinate the materials required to accomplish the daily schedule.
  • Maintain and improve production processes.
  • Perform analysis to ensure compliance with customer specifications while maintaining the AOP.
  • Ensure that all checks and documentation are completed, performing regular quality and safety audits.
  • Liaise as necessary with maintenance to ensure that machines are kept running at an optimum level.
  • Manage day-to-day issues that arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
