About The Position

This role is responsible for planning and scheduling personnel, providing production expectations and quality feedback, monitoring daily production requirements, training and monitoring employee performance, compiling KPI data, ensuring job training and rotations are in place, ensuring compliance with contracts and policies, monitoring product quality, and participating in team meetings and quality initiatives. The position also involves identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities, and adhering to Quality, EHS, Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements. The employee must comply with all company policies and procedures, be able to work additional hours and/or overtime as needed, multitask, interact professionally, and maintain predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Production.
  • 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work).
  • Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meeting.
  • Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed.
  • Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.
  • Compile KPI data and populate end of shift report. Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.
  • Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced.
  • Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
  • Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.
  • Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
  • Daily review of process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Quality requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related EHS requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Understand, apply and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work additional hours and / or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Ability to multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers and vendors, and work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
