About The Position

Reporting to the Assembly Manager for the Production facility, the Production Supervisor is responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in a manufacturing department in order to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. This role involves leading a team and overseeing day-to-day operations, creating and maintaining reports of shift operations, preparing daily time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports. The supervisor will also inspect product to verify production specifications are met, review production schedules, material and manpower resources, and assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. Additionally, the role includes participating in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures, maintaining a variety of reports, records and production documentation, and training new workers. Coaching and counseling employees on safety, quality and production standards is also a key part of this position. The ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary is required.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of front line leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Good work record and experience.
• Ability to lead in a production environment.
• Requires tact and good judgement.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles.

• Bachelor’s degree (Associate’s degree acceptable).
