About The Position

Reporting to the Assembly Manager for the Production facility, the Production Supervisor is responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in a manufacturing department in order to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. This role involves leading a team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring production specifications and output requirements are met. The supervisor will also be involved in establishing and modifying operational methods, maintaining production records, training new workers, and coaching employees on safety, quality, and production standards.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of front line leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good work record and experience.
  • Ability to lead in a production environment.
  • Requires tact and good judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s degree (Associate’s degree acceptable).
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Leading their team and overseeing day to day operations of the group.
  • Creating and maintaining reports of shift operations.
  • Preparing daily time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports.
  • Inspecting product to verify production specifications are met.
  • Reviewing production schedules, material and manpower resources.
  • Assigning employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements.
  • Participating in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment and procedures.
  • Maintaining a variety of reports, records and production documentation to reflect schedules and performance.
  • Training new workers in the organizations operating procedures and standards.
  • Coaching and counseling employees on safety, quality and production standards.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
