The DISG encompasses two business units, the Power Discrete & Modules BU and the RF/Microwave Discreet BU. Markets the PDM & RF/MW discrete BU's address include: alternative energy, industrial, medical, defense, commercial aviation, communications, embedded systems, motor control, power solutions, sensors and security. Microchip is planning to fill the following position with a talented, creative and motivated individual. We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Plating Supervisor to lead our finishing team. Requirements

  • 5+ years in plating or chemical finishing; minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Technical troubleshooting expertise with plating chemistry and equipment.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with lean/process-improvement experience.
  • Inspiring coach and communicator—able to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Safety-focused mindset with a commitment to zero incidents.
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).
  • Able to lift, push, pull, 25lbs, carry 15lbs, sit 10%, stand 60% walk 40 %
  • Must be able to perform activities that include stooping, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, work alone, work around others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Finishing Department Leads; conduct coaching sessions and performance reviews.
  • Translate daily production schedules into clear priorities and staffing assignments.
  • Monitor plating chemistry, equipment condition, and in-process inspections to hit quality metrics.
  • Partner with Engineering on process enhancements, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records (training logs, payroll, performance notes) and report key metrics.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
