About The Position

The Supervisor, Production Line is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of all production employees on assigned production line; achieving employee retention, quality and production goals through strong leadership, supervision of employees/processes, efficient scheduling and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • 5+ years relevant manufacturing or leadership experience
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Continually and proactively demonstrates strong leadership through training, motivating and developing other team members.
  • Develop, implement and maintain training procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall production performance of specific production line(s).
  • Ensures employee retention goals are met through recruiting, selection, orientation, training, communicating expectations, developing growth opportunities and providing consistent feedback to employees.
  • Completes employee performance reviews and develops action plans for any areas of improvement.
  • Adopts and enforces company policies and procedures regarding health and safety regulations.
  • Ensures production goals are met through scheduling, prioritization, trouble shooting and production control.
  • Work with Line Manager, other supervisors and support departments to establish production priorities and a production plan.
  • Balance the production schedule with available resources to ensure timely production and the achievement of on-time production goals.
  • Ensures efficient production to help ensure the achievement of production scrap and OEE goals.
  • Possesses a high level of knowledge about all processes used throughout the department. This includes material handling, system transactions, quality testing and reporting, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Inspects the overall quality of produced products to ensure they are made according to specifications; makes adjustments as necessary and rejects products outside of specifications.
  • Assists in R&D trials.
  • Formally communicates production information to Management on a daily basis via production boards.
  • Drives improvements in production through Viega’s continuous improvement process.
  • Suggests equipment and tooling improvements based on production experience and results.
  • Drives root cause analysis and proper corrective actions.
  • Participate in QIT (Quality Improvement Team) meetings.
  • Ensure company policies and guidelines are being followed.
  • Recommend improvements to policies and procedures aimed at improving efficiency, safety, quality, etc.
  • Ensures team members maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Inputs production orders and confirmations in SAP.
  • Maintains all necessary documentation and processes to ensure that ISO 9001:2008 standards are achieved.
  • Creates work request forms for maintenance for upkeep of equipment and facilities.
  • Leads regular inventory / cycle counting activities.
  • Performs Line Manager duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Process and control any non-conformance defects with production parts.
  • Update and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Drive 6S activities (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain and safety) to organize and manage work stations.
  • Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
