This position involves supervising, directing, and inspecting the preparation and application of plastering materials, including lime putty, gypsum mortar, and Keene cement. The role includes applying scratch, brown, and finish coats to interior and exterior surfaces, as well as installing and/or replacing lathing and sheet rock. The Supervisor Plasterer is responsible for ensuring staff are equipped with necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that safety precautions are observed. This role also involves performing field surveys, working with Capital Projects and developments to evaluate and abate emergencies, and reviewing plan specifications. Quality control inspections, reporting dangerous conditions, reviewing blueprints, and attending meetings are also key aspects of the job. The Supervisor Plasterer will conduct employment interviews, provide technical advice, make decisions regarding work methods, prepare work schedules, and make work assignments. Additionally, the role involves controlling the use of tools and equipment, requisitioning materials, maintaining job records, producing reports, and consulting with Supply Chain Operations and Property Management Departments. Dispatching staff and ordering materials and uniforms are also part of the daily duties.
