The Supervisor of Pharmacy Patient Access will provide leadership and direction for the pharmacy medication access team. The Supervisor will be directly responsible for oversight of financial assistance, prior authorization, and appeal processes. The incumbent will also provide direction and leadership to pharmacy care advocates and pharmacy students/residents providing care for patients. This position requires a thorough understanding of personnel management, specialty pharmacy accreditation, and specialty pharmacy processes. The Supervisor will be a member of the Outpatient Pharmacy Services Leadership Team and will contribute to departmental oversight, teamwork, and strategy under the leadership of the Director, Retail and Specialty Pharmacy Services. The position requires the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals from all clinical disciplines regarding activities related to the improvement of medication use. Ensures that all activities are consistent with overall hospital objectives. The position demonstrates competence to provide pharmaceutical care for neonatal (birth-discharge), pediatric (birth to 11 years), adolescent (12-18), adult (19-65), and geriatric (66-over) patients.
