About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans. This role provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse. The supervisor consistently achieves results, plans and prioritizes work, provides direction and delegates tasks, and develops multi-mode communications. They hold themselves and others accountable, are helpful and cooperative, and handle conflict situations effectively. The supervisor develops and implements shipping and receiving work schedules, directs inbound and outbound shipments, tours the warehouse regularly to solve problems, and makes recommendations for improvement to management. They allocate equipment efficiently, interact with other departments, attend planning meetings, and ensure timely preparation and maintenance of warehouse activity records and reports. The role involves reviewing operating goals, supervising freight checking, ensuring warehouse neatness and organization, preventing damage, and enforcing safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and other standards. Responsibilities also include assisting with physical inventories, cycle counts, operational budgets, and Weber SSS procedures, as well as performing incident root cause analysis and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a direct supervision capacity.
  • Logistics/Transportation industry experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse.

  • Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or the Distribution Center Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.
  • Allocates equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner.
  • Interacts with other departmental management to achieve goals.
  • Attends warehouse planning meetings.
  • Ensures that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.
  • Reviews operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
  • Supervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
  • Reviews warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
  • Operates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
  • Ensure that Weber SSS (Safety, Security and Sanitation) procedures are trained on, practiced and strictly enforced.
  • Performs incident root cause analysis and identifies corrective action as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
