About The Position

The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans. This position involves direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse. The role requires planning and prioritizing work, developing and delivering effective communications, and holding oneself and others accountable. It also involves managing conflict situations, developing and implementing shipping and receiving schedules, and directing inbound and outbound shipments. The Supervisor will tour the warehouse regularly to solve problems, make recommendations for improvement, and ensure efficient equipment utilization. Interaction with other departmental management and attendance at warehouse planning meetings are also key aspects of the role. The position requires timely preparation and maintenance of records and reports, review of operational goals, supervision of freight checking, and daily review of warehouse operations for neatness, organization, and prevention of damage. Ensuring safety procedures and policies are followed, operating in compliance with OSHA standards, and assisting with physical inventories, cycle counts, and budget development are also essential. The role also includes ensuring Weber SSS (Safety, Security and Sanitation) procedures are trained on and enforced, performing incident root cause analysis, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as Synapse.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a direct supervision capacity.
  • Logistics/Transportation industry experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct daily supervision of warehouse associates to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse.

  • Makes recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or the Distribution Center Manager on programs to improve warehouse operations.
  • Allocates equipment so that it is utilized in the most efficient manner.
  • Interacts with other departmental management to achieve goals.
  • Attends warehouse planning meetings.
  • Ensures that all records and reports regarding warehouse activity are prepared on a timely basis and effectively maintained.
  • Reviews operating goals and standards and monitor achievement.
  • Supervises checking of outgoing and incoming freight for proper counts and codes.
  • Reviews warehouse operations daily to ensure the warehouse is neat and well organized and that damage to product, equipment, and the facility is prevented.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures and policies are followed.
  • Operates in compliance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the operational budget as required.
  • Ensure that Weber SSS (Safety, Security and Sanitation) procedures are trained on, practiced and strictly enforced.
  • Performs incident root cause analysis and identifies corrective action as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
