About The Position

This role provides day-to-day work direction for direct reports, focusing on maintaining steady workflow and productivity and resolving operational decisions. The position requires an understanding of leadership approaches and practical knowledge of Operations (Quality/Production Control/Manufacturing/Test/Engineering). Responsibilities include providing input on hiring, termination, promotion, performance, and/or compensation decisions for direct reports. The role involves communicating with internal and external parties to explain policies, practices, and procedures. Adjustments to procedures and processes are made to solve problems, and operational objectives are planned for a team with some impact on department results. The supervisor identifies, defines, and addresses general problems within the immediate job area or team, assigns tasks to achieve operational targets, and may manage day-to-day budget elements such as supplies and overtime costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Typically requires broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline.
  • Applicable manufacturing or engineering experience preferred.

  • Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc.
  • May manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., costs associated with maintaining area supplies and overtime of staff).
