About The Position

Martz Bus is seeking a Supervisor of Safety and Training to support their Hyattsville, Maryland operation. This role is responsible for developing, delivering, and administering motor coach operator training programs, including new hire, recertification, remedial training, and driver skills assessments. The position ensures operators meet company performance standards and regulatory requirements through training, documentation, evaluation, and compliance monitoring. Key duties include conducting classroom and in-coach training, overseeing new driver and remediation programs, maintaining training records, supporting fleet technology and the Learning Management System, and assisting with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety compliance through audits, inspections, ride-alongs, driver performance evaluations, incident investigations, and reporting. The Supervisor of Safety and Training reports to the Corporate Director of Safety and Training and collaborates with operations, human resources, and other departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least five years of commercial driving experience with a Class B CDL or higher
  • Valid Class B CDL, or higher, with passenger and air brake endorsements
  • DOT compliance experience
  • At least two years of supervisory experience in a training, safety, or compliance-related role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Responsibilities
