About The Position

The Supervisor of Receiving and Mailroom is responsible for the management, coordination and oversight of the activities of the Receiving and Mailroom operations at Mount Sinai West Hospital.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum Four years’ experience in Materials Management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources

Responsibilities

  • Plans and ensures successful work schedules and assignments of both Receiving and Mailroom staff in performance of their duties.
  • Monitors performance of assigned staff to meet production goals
  • Provides feedback to Manager of Materials Management on all aspects of operations, staff productivity and budget variances.
  • Develops cost savings/labor savings measures when required. Ensures regulatory compliance for all surveys.
  • Establishes and maintains policies and procedures relating to hospital receiving and mail handling control applications.
  • Maintains and orders appropriate stock levels of inventoried products in support of Receiving and Mailroom operations. Ensures that all equipment assigned to Receiving and Mailroom is maintained and in serviceable condition
  • Ensures that area is kept neat, orderly and that all equipment is secured from damage and loss
  • Supports oversight of outside vendors as needed to ensure safety and surety of hospital assets ad appropriate confidentiality of information
  • Trains staff of all appropriate inventory control applications.
  • Prepares and furnishes reports on volume activity and staff productivity. Advises manager of changes in resource needs.
  • Participates in Labor Relations activities, including disciplinary actions, grievance, arbitrations and terminations.
