Night - Supervisor of Rail
About The Position
Interstate Waste Services (IWS) is seeking an experienced Night Rail Supervisor to oversee overnight rail and railyard operations at its Ohio landfill. This leadership role coordinates employees, railcar unloading, equipment operations, safety compliance, and nightly production activities. The role works the overnight shift and may require work on weekends and holidays as scheduled. Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in rail, terminal, logistics, solid waste, or heavy industrial work.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, FRA, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of leadership or shift supervision experience.
- Knowledge of rail yard operations, gondola railcars, and unloading processes.
- Experience with heavy equipment such as loaders or excavators.
Responsibilities
- Lead overnight rail and railyard operations.
- Supervise employees, equipment, and railcar unloading activities.
- Manage gondola inventory, track usage, and operational workflow.
- Coordinate with landfill operations and other shifts.
- Drive safety performance and respond to incidents.
- Monitor production, equipment availability, and shift performance.
- Complete shift reports and operational handoffs.
