  • Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above: A Supervisor of Membership would have an Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare, or related and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the healthcare, insurance, government regulations, billing or related field.
  • 1 year of supervisory/staff leadership experience is preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the entire duration of employment without the need for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises and guides employees in accomplishing work objectives within the unit.
  • Coaches, motivates, and recognizes employees.
  • Sets clear goals and objectives and performance expectations and holds employees accountable for achieving results.
  • Serves as an expert in systems and process functionality, resolution, and enhancements with internal and external partners to ensure overall business operations are efficient and effective.
  • Keeps abreast of state and federal regulations impacting the team and ensures that internal processes are documented and followed, including complex issues related to enrollment, qualifying life events, and working with the Federally Facilitated Exchange (FFE).
  • Ensures applications and ID cards are accurate and properly reflect eligibility rules and regulations.
  • Works to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of procedures in the department.
  • Serves as a subject-matter expert to internal staff and other divisions for issues related to enrollment.
  • Collaborates with the North Dakota Department of Insurance to resolve member filed complaints, when necessary.
  • Leads, serves and/or participates on committees, strategy meetings or special projects and programs to ensure operations are running effectively and procedures are followed.
  • Collaborates with external stakeholders as well as other departments within the organization to resolve and educate on complex inquires and assists with interpretation of government regulations and internal procedures.
