Supervisor of Housekeeping/Laundry
About The Position
Oak River Rehab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor to lead our environmental services team in providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in resident care. The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments. This position ensures all resident rooms, common areas, and facility linens meet the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience required.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable, professional, and customer-service oriented.
Nice To Haves
- Supervisory experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, assisted living, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and schedule housekeeping and laundry staff.
- Ensure compliance with all facility policies, safety regulations, and infection control procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and laundry operations.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment.
- Coordinate laundry services to ensure timely processing and distribution of resident and facility linens.
- Address staff performance concerns and provide coaching and support.
- Assist with department budgeting and supply management.
- Respond promptly to resident, family, and staff concerns regarding housekeeping or laundry services.
- Collaborate with nursing and other departments to support resident care and satisfaction.
- Participate in facility quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities.
