About The Position

Responsible for managing and supervising the activities of the airport operations staff, ensuring compliance with all applicable airport, local, state, and Federal regulations, and to serve as the Manager of Airport Operations in their absence. Responsible for the oversight of the Ramp Control Center for gate utilization coordinating with airlines and airline operators. Responsible for developing and driving ramp programs for safety with airlines and ground handlers including a FOD Program, Ground Equipment Program and Safety awareness program. This position reports to the Manager of Airport Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in a related field of work.
  • Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; recognizes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations policies, and procedures.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provides technical expertise; provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate.
  • Plans, directs, coordinates and reviews work plan for Operations staff: assigns work activities, projects, and programs; evaluates work products to ensure adherence to FAA and CRAA guidelines, procedures, and regulations; oversees operations at LRO to ensure adherence to all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulations; leads Operations staff training: collaborates with employees to correct deficiencies, ensuring compliance with FAA guidelines; administers mandatory training to maintain compliance with annual FAA inspection; serves as 24/7 on call support for all airport operations/emergencies, FBO operations, and all events requiring such support: responds to emergencies at all three airports to include aircraft accidents and fuel spills.
  • Oversee the passenger experience related to airline baggage delivery, ensuring efficient and timely movement of luggage from aircraft to baggage claim areas
  • Monitor and track baggage delivery times from aircraft arrival to carousel placement and customer pickup, identifying delays or service gaps.
  • Proactively communicate baggage status updates to passengers, keeping them informed of delays, causes, and expected resolution times.
  • Maintain a visible, active presence throughout the terminal to assist passengers, answer questions, and address concerns in real time.
  • Coordinate closely with airline partners, ground handling agents, and other airport stakeholders to resolve baggage-related issues quickly and effectively.
  • Identify, document, and report operational issues or recurring concerns related to baggage delivery and passenger experience.
  • Support overall terminal operations by escalating passenger service issues and operational disruptions to appropriate airlines and airport departments.
  • Communicates with airport tenants, vendors and other outside agencies plans monthly Station Manager/Tenant meetings to field questions/disseminate operational information; attends quarterly meetings with USAF/Boeing personnel to provide and gather information required for operational success; disseminates information received via email and phone calls.
  • Assist Manager of Airport Operations: performs all necessary duties in the absence of Operation staff, to include Operations Specialist, Manager of Airport Operations, and operations administrative support.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations within designated timeframes and per established procedures receives various documentation, and reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, summaries, correspondence, ledgers, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
  • Operates or uses various equipment and supplies in order to complete work assignments operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or applicable software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
