About The Position

This is a general management position in a hospital environment, supporting staffing, working with vendors, handling budgets, and directing operations that directly impact patient health care. The Supervisor Nursing OR oversees staff and clinical operations, ensures personnel competence, supports adequate staffing, and responds to patient and family complaints. The role is based at Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus in Indianapolis, Indiana. Travel is required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state or through a state listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Three years of Operating Room Nursing experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare, supervise, and control the budget, and monitor and analyze variances.
Direct employees to meet mandatory Human Resource requirements.
Complete performance appraisals for staff members.
Provide timely and effective service recovery to address patient and family complaints and grievances.
Participate in people-management activities for direct team members, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and interviews.
Oversee the process for assuring the clinical competence of personnel.
Identify staffing needs for the oncoming shift and initiate actions to procure adequate staffing levels within the supervisor’s control.
Remain current with and compliant with developments and technology in areas of responsibility, including documentation, medication administration, and monitoring systems.
