The supervisor assigns residents to available nursing staff, considering the resident's condition and the employee's skill level. The job description also includes monitoring resident care areas for cleanliness and readiness, potentially filling in for clinical support staff during staffing gaps, and serving as a point of contact for technical training and troubleshooting. The role requires utilizing and ensuring staff follow the nursing process for individualized care, collaborating with inter-professional colleagues, and managing personal care, medication administration, care planning, and scheduling. It also involves assisting with human resources administrative processing, budget information collection, and new staff training and orientation. The position requires knowledge of clinical practices, strategic planning, administrative and financial principles, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to react calmly in emergencies. The supervisor must interpret, adapt, and supply guidelines and procedures, follow up with risk management, and train clinical staff as needed. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions is essential, as is participation in reviewing clinical performance assessments and implementing performance improvement policies.
