About The Position

The Supervisor, Neuro diagnostics & EKG provides daily operational and technical oversight for neurodiagnostic services across the Trinity Health Hospital Campus and Medical District. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality electroencephalograms (EEG), evoked potentials, and related neurodiagnostic studies for patients of all ages. The supervisor coordinates workflow, supports staff competency, and ensures compliance with regulatory, safety, and accreditation standards. Through technical expertise, clear communication, and collaborative leadership, this position supports accurate diagnostic information and contributes to consistent, high-quality neurological care.

Requirements

  • Registered by ABRET in EEG and/or Evoked Potentials is highly desirable.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 30 days of hire.
  • Associate Degree from an accredited neurodiagnostic technology program is recommended (a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred).
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in neurodiagnostic testing.
  • Demonstrates leadership, administrative, supervisory and teaching skills.
  • PC experience required.
  • The Supervisor, Neuro diagnostics & EKG frequently stands, walks, and assists with patient preparation for neurodiagnostic studies.
  • The role requires positioning patients, applying and removing electrodes, and handling diagnostic equipment and supplies.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and the ability to work in dimmed-light environments are essential for safe electrode placement, waveform interpretation support, and effective patient interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Neurodiagnostic Department, ensuring timely scheduling, accurate study performance, and efficient patient flow.
  • Perform standard and complex EEGs, evoked potentials, and other neurodiagnostic procedures, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support to staff.
  • Monitor quality assurance activities, equipment performance, safety practices, and documentation to ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling, orientation, and ongoing competency development to maintain a skilled and patient-centered neurodiagnostic team.
  • Collaborate with neurologists, nursing units, therapy services, and hospital leadership to address clinical needs and support coordinated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage inventory of supplies and equipment, and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
