This position plans, coordinates, and oversees the administration and continuous improvement of the District’s Multilingual Learner programs. It ensures district compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements related to services for English Learners. The role involves organizing, facilitating, and supporting District English Language Advisory Council (DELAC) meetings and parent/guardian engagement activities. It also requires collaboration with District and site administrators in the development, implementation, and evaluation of Newcomer and Dual Language Immersion programs. The Supervisor will interview, select, train, supervise, and evaluate classified staff, including bilingual facilitators and bilingual paraeducators. Additionally, they will facilitate professional learning, collaboration, and capacity-building opportunities for certificated staff serving multilingual learners. The role includes developing, monitoring, and administering departmental budgets, providing leadership and technical guidance on best practices, instructional programs, and services for multilingual learner achievement. A key responsibility is monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, analyzing data, and recommending improvements. The Supervisor will collaborate on implementing instructional practices aligned with English Language Development Standards and Universal Design for Learning. They will also be involved in the administration of English Language Proficiency Assessments (ELPAC), including coordination, calibration of examiners, and data management in CALPADS. The role requires serving as a subject matter expert in various student achievement and data management systems, developing training materials, and assisting with professional development activities. Other duties include reviewing timesheets, providing work direction to clerical staff, attending relevant training, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
