About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for a challenging position to join their operations team: Supervisor, Mine Operations (Construction). Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. They operate three mines in Canada and Mexico, with a strong portfolio of development stage projects and an early-stage exploration project. Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, located near the town of Matachewan. Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in mining operations
  • Supervisory common core
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently
  • Computer proficient
  • Good communication skills, coupled with strong leadership abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in mining related field would be an asset
  • Qualified as train the trainer would be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Plan, communicate and follow work for assigned construction team
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentorship to members of the crew
  • Hold yourself and crew members accountable towards attainment of safety and performance targets
  • Perform workplace inspections and plan corrective measures if required
  • Report work planned and realized daily using the tools provided
  • Perform monthly HS meetings with crews presenting the material provided
  • Perform performance appraisals with the support of the field trainer
  • Fill monthly compliance records
  • Any other task as directed by direct supervisor
