Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, and five (5) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining-related discipline with at least one (1) summer internship experience (or equivalent) in a mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience
- Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
- Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
- Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
- Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws.

Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit.
- Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff.
- Implement production plans according to approved schedules.
- Participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks as needed.
- Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action.
- Conduct performance evaluations.
- Prepare estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain inventories and approve purchases.
- Manage time, materials, and equipment use reports.
- Train staff in safety procedures.
- Maintain safety data sheets.
- Perform other duties as required.
