About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is needing a Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team at Heartland Cardiology in Wichita KS. Position Summary Ensures and oversees the efficient, profitable day-to-day operation of the clinic(s)/center(s). Responds to the needs of patients, family members, community, as well as other departments. Directly supervises medical support staff, coordinates activities with providers and other departments to manage patient flow and manages related systems and processes to provide quality services to patients in a safe and positive environment.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED from accredited institution.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current Certification as a Medical Assistant.
Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience.
If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver’s license and required minimum auto insurance coverage.

Nice To Haves

Cardiology practice experience is preferred but not required.
Supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Supervises medical support staff including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, and coaching.
Completes medical support staff schedule and organizes daily work activities to ensure adequate clinic coverage including coordinating coverage for support staff call-offs and changes in provider schedules.
Establishes performance standards, procedural guidelines, and policies.
Evaluates staff performance and administers corrective actions when needed.
Directs employee training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices.
Completes various related special projects, which may require reviewing and analyzing information, identifying problems, recommending solutions, and writing reports.
Ensures the clinic/center operates efficiently and consistently and that the patients receive high-quality customer service and care.
Fosters the goals of team building within the clinic/center staff.
Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.

Follows processes and policies for the organization.
Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.
