About The Position

Supervisors are key leadership figures within the media investment team who bridge the gap between high-level client strategy and hands-on tactical execution. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the entire investment process for a portfolio of accounts, managing the professional development of the buying team, and serving as the primary point of communication for planning teams and clients regarding investment strategies. The Supervisor’s role is to drive the overarching video and audio investment strategy and lead high-stakes negotiations. This requires advanced marketplace expertise and a holistic view of the evolving media landscape, ensuring the seamless integration of AM/FM radio, digital audio, linear television, and connected TV (CTV/OTT) to meet and exceed client business objectives.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree
  • 5–8+ years of experience in media buying with extensive knowledge of linear broadcast, Connected TV (CTV/OTT), and digital audio landscapes.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience directly managing or leading team members.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint and buying systems (e.g., MediaOcean, Prisma, Nlogic).
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, advanced negotiation tactics, stellar presentation and client-facing communication skills, strong analytical and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with Media Planning and Client Leadership teams to establish buying guidelines, set realistic pricing benchmarks (CPP/CPM), and define comprehensive cross-platform strategies.
  • Lead high-level negotiations, including annual Upfronts, major sports packages, high-profile sponsorships, and multi-market master agreements across linear, CTV, and digital audio platforms.
  • Present buying strategies, marketplace trends, and quarterly business reviews directly to clients, translating complex buying data into clear, business-driven insights.
  • Provide financial and operational oversight, ensuring all client budgets are strictly managed, audit reports are accurate, and billing/invoice discrepancies are resolved across the team's entire portfolio.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends—such as the integration of linear and CTV, shifts in measurement currencies, and audience fragmentation—to proactively advise clients and internal teams.
  • Establish and maintain top-to-top business relationships with key vendor partners and network executives.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Assistant Buyers, Buyers, and Senior Buyers.
  • Oversee daily workloads, review buy portfolios, and sign off on final negotiations and buys.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, guide career development, and ensure the team is fully trained on negotiation tactics, media terminology, and buying systems.
