About The Position

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate management of inventory levels within the organization. This role will report into the Production Manager and ensures that products are available when needed, while minimizing costs associated with excess stock and stockouts. By effectively managing inventory levels and optimizing warehouse operations, the Inventory Control Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the overall efficiency and profitability of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage direct inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify trends to ensure adequate supply.
  • Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories to verify accuracy.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely and accurate procurement of inventory items.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve issues related to inventory quality or delivery.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, put away, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Manage Railcar deliveries, silo levels and perform physical material transfers from railcar to silo.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization.
  • Lead and supervise a team directly over inventory, shipping and procurement.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and address performance issues.
  • Prepare regular inventory reports and provide analysis to management.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies or shortages.
  • Responsible to manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to department management.
  • Leader in project management related to department improvements.
  • Proficient in using various software applications including Microsoft office, ERP, and others.
