This position oversees product formulation and manufacturing, manages and supports internal staff, ensures the integrity and quality of products, handles process improvements and new product launches, and maintains accurate documentation. This role requires collaboration with contract manufacturers, technical problem-solving, up to 30% travel, and effective team leadership. This includes working directly with contract manufacturers to ensure finished product formulation integrity, providing direction and guidance to internal staff in formulation chemistry, technical services, and vendor management. The role involves reviewing manufacturing specifications and ingredient lists, participating in mix development, product laboratory testing, and executing final formulas. It also includes providing technical oversight for current products, analyzing formulations for compatibility and optimization, and ensuring timely preparation of RFQs. The position requires reviewing supplier technical documentation, managing product and process improvements, monitoring manufacturing processes, evaluating formulation updates and alternative ingredients, and overseeing new product launches with onsite supervision at contract manufacturers. Additionally, it involves evaluating new raw materials and formulas for manufacturability, functionality, and stability, reviewing labels and specifications, and presenting technical product information to management and cross-functional teams. Maintaining formula data in a product database is also a key responsibility. Approximately 30% travel is required, with 2 onsite days per week being essential. The role also involves proactively leading, coaching, and developing team members.
