About The Position

This position is responsible for all aspects of plant maintenance coordination including leading and directing maintenance technicians. Foster a well-trained and motivated staff. The role involves managing and overseeing the preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment, scheduling maintenance crews and production work orders, and measuring, monitoring, and reducing machine downtime. The supervisor will also diagnose basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and electronic (PLC) problems and direct/assist with repairs, while promoting a ‘Safety First’ culture and developing an effective preventative maintenance program.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years’ industrial maintenance experience.
  • Responsible for supervising a group of mechanics who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff.
  • Knowledge of SQF Quality Management policies and procedures along with GMP practices to ensure all maintenance employees understand and follow the company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to speak clearly, listen and understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook at the intermediate level.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP software is a plus.
  • Preference given to internal qualified candidates currently employed at this facility followed by candidates from other Tyson facilities then external candidates.
