About The Position

Maintenance Supervisors are primarily responsible for the effective installation and operation of plant production equipment, production support equipment, and facilities. These responsibilities are accomplished through the selection, development, and day-to-day direction of the plant’s maintenance staff. The Maintenance Supervisor will assist in the financial responsibility for tool crib inventory by directing and controlling levels, purchasing and standardizing parts, and maintaining equipment repair histories. The Maintenance Supervisor will also assist in the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of the plant’s Preventative Maintenance Program. The primary duties of a Maintenance Supervisor include understanding, following, and enforcing all established safety, health, quality GMP, and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices. They provide daily written assignments to assigned personnel consistent with priorities set by their manager, adjusting assignments as needed to respond to emergencies. They advise the Maintenance Manager on the progress and problems of the Maintenance staff, and are responsible for the daily execution of assigned components of the Plant’s Preventative Maintenance Program. They assist the Maintenance Manager in updating and improving the Preventative Maintenance Program, and are responsible for major troubleshooting beyond the scope of operating staff, implementing corrective action plans for mechanical and electrical machine deficiencies. They are responsible for ordering parts, standardizing components, and maintaining parts’ inventories within the Maintenance Department (subject to Plant Engineer’s approval). They are accountable for assisting management in eliminating plant safety deficiencies and performing audits to ensure equipment and facilities comply with Federal, State, and Local laws. They maintain proper records for equipment repair histories, purchased components, and company property assigned to the Maintenance Department. 0-25% travel may be required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and/or related maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and related maintenance experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operations or maintenance supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills strongly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.

  • Responsible for major trouble shooting that is beyond the scope of the operating staff and implements corrective action plans for mechanical and electrical machine deficiencies of all lines.
  • Responsible for ordering parts, standardizing components and maintaining parts’ inventories within the Maintenance Department (subject to Plant Engineer’s approval).
  • Accountable for assisting management in the elimination of all plant safety deficiencies found and in performing audits in ensuring that our equipment and facilities comply with Federal, State and Local laws.
  • Maintain proper records for equipment repair histories, purchased components and company property assigned to the Maintenance Department.
