The Supervisor, Maintenance Processing reports to the Superintendent, Process Maintenance and is responsible for supervising maintenance crews to meet departmental objectives safely, environmentally responsibly, and efficiently. This role involves shutdown ownership and management, trades supervision, schedule execution, continuous improvement, and staffing, consistent with company standards. The successful applicant will manage all maintenance-related activities at the Fording River processing plant, including millwrights, welders, pipefitters, and electricians. The position is based on a 4 on 4 off straight days rotation, with occasional extra time expected. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a proven track record of mentoring and motivating, possessing excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to interact at all organizational levels. The role requires the ability to multi-task and handle challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The position is located in the Elk Valley of British Columbia, offering outdoor adventure and work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Journeyperson's ticket, related technical diploma, or engineering degree
  • Experience in electrical and/or instrumentation
  • Experience in execution, planning, and scheduling of maintenance work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Lead shutdown ownership and management, including job walkdowns, job assignments and contractor alignment, pre meetings with contractors, shutdown readiness and commissioning plans, with a focus on electrical and instrumentation
  • Manage daily and weekly work schedules, including Short Interval Controls (SIC) for shutdowns
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Planners, Scheduler, and Materials Coordinator on day to day and also shutdown readiness and performance
  • Supervise multiple contractors to ensure work is conducted safely and in accordance with the project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Assist in sourcing and requisitioning maintenance supplies, equipment, and services within budget guidelines
  • Develop and maintain a safe and efficient work environment through compliance with EVR’s Gcom, No Plan no Work and Safe coal Programs and adhering to the BC Mines Act
  • Lead and motivate individuals in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance through mentorship and feedback
  • Coordinate and prioritize the activities of the maintenance crew for the maintenance and repair of plant equipment to improve availability and reliability
  • Lead safety meetings, crew talks, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete employee work performance evaluations
  • Participate in industrial relations and safety investigations
