About The Position

The Supervisor of Central Receiving in the clinical laboratory is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of specimen intake and processing to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory operations. This role includes assisting with the recruiting, mentoring, and managing staff while fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. The supervisor aids in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures aligned with clinical laboratory regulations, medical laws, and ethical standards, while maintaining rigorous quality assurance and safety protocols. Additionally, the supervisor promotes a learning-focused environment that supports the education and professional development of laboratory staff and healthcare practitioners, ensuring the receiving area remains conducive to clinical teaching and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required
  • At least 5 years of progressive work experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
  • State licensure and/or professional certification through the ASCP BOC or equivalent, if not, must be attained within one year of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.
  • 5 years progressive work experience OR Associate's and 2 yrs experience; OR High school and 4yrs experience.
  • State licensure and/or professional certification through the ASCP BOC or equivalent at time of hire or must be attained within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality assurance protocols.
  • Partner with cross-functional healthcare teams to enhance patient flow, resolve customer service concerns, and support integrated care delivery.
  • Ensure ongoing professional development opportunities for care team members.
