About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for aspects of network administration and security supporting software/hardware technology implementation of a complex nature in a Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environment.

Requirements

  • Associate Two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Associate’s degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).
  • 1 Year of hands-on experience with Microsoft Server Technologies, Malicious Software protection systems, Enterprise class backup systems, and general Networking Services.
  • General knowledge of high-availability systems and SAN architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the overall design of the Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environment including planning, installation, maintenance, and management.
  • Supports selected vendor products to assist in maintaining a reliable server environment.
  • Work involves selected activities associated with a complex, multiple operating system environment and assisting in the selection and integration of new server systems; server design and installation; policy development; monitoring; analysis of existing hardware and software; and evaluation of potential server enhancements.
  • Works under general direction with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in analyzing and evaluating selected server technology; supporting projects requiring implementation of new server technology.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of network administration standards, server configurations and procedures.
  • Performs general project planning tasks such as project risk assessments, alternative implementation analysis, and project status tracking and reporting.
  • Assists in determining operational, technical, and support requirements for the location, installation, operation, and maintenance of server systems.
  • Assists Network Administrator II & III in evaluating selected new server technologies for potential acquisition and various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the corporation.
