Contribute to Vitalant's life-saving mission by efficiently overseeing and coordinating daily technical operations, providing skilled technical support. Perform blood component processing and labeling and routine testing of biological samples.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, medical technology or medical laboratory science required.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist by a recognized certifying agency required or CLIA equivalent for moderate or high complexity testing required.
- One year of laboratory experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Technologist in blood banking (BB) or Specialist in blood banking (SBB) preferred.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and assess the performance of the intake of blood products, product testing, and product labeling.
- Oversee department equipment maintenance program, including preventative maintenance records and vendor scheduling.
- Manage the Product Quality Control program, including completion of product QC record, assessments, reporting, failure investigations and corrective action.
- Investigate deviations in testing, quality control and preventative maintenance.
- Assist in reporting and resolving deviations.
- Conduct required competency observations and complete documentation.
- Provide effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results to meet company goals.
