Requirements

  • Vocational/technical degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years industry experience.
  • Basic mathematics skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of all kitting and assembly procedures.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions.
  • Ability to develop new techniques for handling work.
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
  • Demonstrate a positive safety attitude.
  • Basic computer skills navigating Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Front-line supervision experience plus technical and interpersonal skills are helpful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising workflow of the schedules and managing staff to achieve manufacturing goals.
  • Responsible for assuring the overall quality of the products being shipped and for supervising in-process inspections and verifications.
  • Responsible for staff evaluations and general employee relations.
  • Makes hiring, promotion, and termination recommendations.
  • Responsible for the safety of department personnel and for assuring compliance with all safety procedures.
  • Interacts with scheduling, customer service, planning and press to assure availability of printed materials to meet delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for determining the most efficient way that a job should be prepared.
  • Ability to work together with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Support of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Works overtime when needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Oversees daily assignments to Line Leads and General Workers.
  • Approves time off and payroll time.
  • Conflict resolution and general discipline to adhere to rules.
