The Supervisor, Inpatient Rehab oversees the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the department. This role involves providing direct patient care for approximately 50% of the time, performing all duties of a staff therapist, and participating in the development and implementation of new inpatient programs and services. The supervisor ensures that the quality of inpatient programs and services meets state-of-the-art, quality assurance, and regulatory standards. They contribute positively to the Hospital’s external image through high customer satisfaction and active participation in committees and programs supporting the mission. Responsibilities also include effectively controlling costs, assisting management with budget, and aiding in hiring, evaluating, and supervising staff. The supervisor maintains department statistics, shares clinical information with staff, ensures accurate documentation and billing procedures, and works closely with the Director to enforce policies and maintain a safe environment and high staff morale. This position requires leadership to create a shared drive and purpose, stimulate staff to achieve their highest potential, and inspire through a vision of success, maximizing the potential and productivity of each employee by clearly communicating goals, objectives, and performance standards. The supervisor must maximize the diverse talents of all team members, work effectively with peers, subordinates, and management, and communicate effectively and positively in all situations. They are also responsible for effectively managing their own time and the time of others, supporting the hospital’s mission, philosophy, and goals, assisting in the orientation of new staff, attending required meetings, and performing other work-related duties as assigned. The role consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers, challenges current working practices, identifies process improvement opportunities, and presents recommendations and solutions to management, engaging and committing to the organization’s culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
