About The Position

Responsible for managing the daily operations of The Institute for Advanced Biomedical Imaging including supervision of all technologists and supports personnel as required for a safe and efficient delivery of quality diagnostic testing. This position is responsible and accountable to the Director of the Institute for Advanced Biomedical Imaging.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field required
  • A minimum of four (4) years in an Imaging department required
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Registered Technologist and BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and develops an effective staff: providing good communication, leadership, guidance and resources.
  • Helps determines staff qualifications and competencies: assists Director of Imaging in recruiting, interviews, hire selections, training, orientation, mentoring, employee coaching and feedback.
  • Establishes and monitors staff safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Assures that Imaging Services consistently run smoothly, timely and effectively for all diagnostic modalities and procedures.
  • Prepares staff schedules, including identification of the appropriate number of personnel for daily activity, making any necessary adjustments in assignments and schedules for the daily activity level.
  • Monitors technologist’s image quality and RIS/PACS documentation errors for feedback.
  • Serves as a role model in customer service for the department.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and good customer service skills with patients, physicians, and other departments.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems, scheduling, physician and internal department issues.
  • Meets all compliance standards of the department and hospital to include: Department Policies and Procedures, Joint Commission, State, Federal and ACR and other related agencies as required.
  • Performs diagnostic Imaging procedures to assist staff and acts as a back-up as needed incorporating all radiation safety standards.
  • Maintains knowledge and use of hospital and Radiology information systems.
  • Helps trouble shoot PACS and RIS problems as a super user.
  • Orders operating supplies using the hospital computer purchasing system as needed.
  • Acts as a backup for Diagnostic Imaging Technologist as needed.
