About The Position

Galvion is seeking an experienced Supervisor I, Manufacturing to join our Plant Operations team in Newport, Vermont. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. The Supervisor I will lead employees and Team Leads, coordinate staffing and daily production activities, support employee development, and drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business, Management, Manufacturing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop employees in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical aptitude and injection molding experience are a plus.
  • Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to manufacturing employees and Team Leads.
  • Coordinate staffing, employee assignments, and daily production priorities.
  • Monitor production schedules and performance to ensure customer and operational requirements are met.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 6S initiatives focused on improving efficiency, safety, and workplace conditions.
  • Coach, train, and develop employees while supporting cross-training and employee growth.
  • Monitor departmental performance metrics and communicate issues and opportunities to leadership.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and other departments to resolve problems and improve processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities comply with company policies, SOPs, Work Instructions, and applicable safety requirements.
  • Identify and communicate equipment, process, staffing, and performance issues that may impact production or departmental goals.
