About The Position

The Supervisor, Hospital Access will provide leadership and guidance for staff in one or more of the following departments: Emergency Center Registrations, Financial Counseling, Hospital Admissions and Outpatient Registration, and Hospital Outpatient Department Registration. This role will post work schedules to ensure efficient use of staff time with minimal use of overtime, attend meetings, maintain team productivity, work closely with other departments, assist with cash handling, order office supplies, fill in for staff when needed, work with staff and patients on a daily basis. They exemplify excellent customer service for both staff and patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a professional or customer-facing role.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other applicable software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Transferable skills such as team coordination, operational management, and customer interaction.
  • Ability to work and lead in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound ability to multitask.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare or related field.
  • 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance for staff in assigned departments.
  • Post work schedules to ensure efficient use of staff time with minimal overtime.
  • Attend meetings and maintain team productivity.
  • Work closely with other departments.
  • Assist with cash handling and order office supplies.
  • Fill in for staff when needed.
  • Work with staff and patients on a daily basis, exemplifying excellent customer service.
  • Supervise all activities, responsibilities, and functions in their area of assigned responsibility while acting as a mentor to staff.
  • Assist managers in the interviewing and selection process for new staff members.
  • Monitor staff's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that the staff complies with departmental and hospital policies and procedures, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Communicate respectfully and appropriately with staff, patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Review time in Workday to ensure staff compliance to the SFHS attendance and punctuality policy.
  • Assist the manager with employee annual performance reviews and offer recommendations and valuable input.
